Buy-Side Advisory · Tech-Enabled Business Services
About the Firm
Agentive Capital provides independent buy-side advisory to private equity firms and family offices pursuing acquisitions in tech-enabled business services — with a particular focus on IT value-added resellers, managed service providers, and contact center and customer experience organizations.
We target companies headquartered in the United States with revenues between $100M and $1B — businesses built by founders who care deeply about their people, their culture, and who they sell to.
What sets us apart is lived experience. Our principal has been a founder, a PE-backed executive, and a seller. We understand what’s at stake on both sides of the table — and we use that perspective to create better outcomes for everyone involved.
What We Do
Proprietary access to founder-owned IT VARs, MSPs, and CX technology businesses across the United States. We leverage a deep industry Rolodex — built over decades at BellSouth, Avaya, Presidio, and in the field — to surface off-market opportunities your competitors won’t see.
Hands-on buy-side diligence across commercial, operational, and technology workstreams. We bring genuine operator fluency in contact center, unified communications, cloud platforms, and managed services — so we know what questions to ask and what risk looks like.
Strategic advisory for roll-up and platform build strategies in tech-enabled services. As a former founder who sold to private equity and subsequently led a PE-backed platform, we help sponsors structure pipelines, align founder incentives, and execute the add-on thesis with credibility.
Principal
Founder & Principal, Agentive Capital
Bill Gregory brings a perspective to buy-side advisory that purely financial advisors cannot replicate. He has been a founder, a PE-backed executive, and a seller — and he has sat across the table in all three roles.
Bill co-founded Light Networks, a provider of communications and contact center solutions, where he served as Co-CEO and later President & COO over nearly 12 years. Light Networks was acquired by Anexinet in 2021. Following the acquisition, he served as Executive Vice President, Customer Experience at Verinext — the combined platform formed by the merger of Anexinet and Veristor.
Prior to Light Networks, Bill held sales leadership roles at Avaya, Presidio, and BellSouth. His technical fluency spans contact center, unified communications, cloud CX platforms — including Genesys, NICE, and Five9 — as well as managed services and route/switch infrastructure.
